In a new academic achievement that reinforces the international presence of the College of Medicine and adds to the record of University of Al-Ameed, the college's official page in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) was updated with the addition of the ECFMG Sponsor Note, confirming the eligibility of the college's students and graduates to apply for ECFMG Certification in accordance with approved regulations and requirements.
The official page of the college in the global directory states that:
“Students and graduates of this medical school are eligible to apply for ECFMG Certification.”
The Sponsor Note also specifies the graduation years currently covered as 2023–Current, subject to the applicant meeting all remaining eligibility requirements approved by the ECFMG.

This step carries special significance due to the link between ECFMG certification and the career path for international physicians in the United States, including eligibility to complete requirements for the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) and subsequently apply for specialized residency programs, subject to approved conditions.

Consequently, the college's graduates can now apply for the PLAB exam and/or apply for GMC registration without requiring a new individual assessment of their medical qualification, provided all other council requirements are met.
