During 2025, Al-Ameed University maintained and expanded collaborations with local, national and international health institutions and academic partners to support health and wellbeing, strengthen medical and health-professions education, improve clinical training, and contribute to community health services.
At the local level, the University continued its cooperation with the Karbala Health Directorate, including coordination related to the clinical training of medical students within healthcare institutions affiliated with the Directorate and wider scientific and academic cooperation. The University also strengthened cooperation with Al-Kafeel Specialized Hospital, where students from health-related colleges received clinical and professional training and participated in programmes connected with healthcare practice, patient safety and infection control. Cooperation with the Karbala Pharmacists Syndicate also supported professional development and training opportunities for pharmacy students and graduates.
Beyond the local level, Al-Ameed University engaged with health authorities and institutions from other Iraqi governorates. This included cooperation with the Maysan Health Directorate in relation to the provision and coordination of medical and health services, contributing to wider community health support and the exchange of professional experience.
The University also maintained international academic and health-related partnerships. Its cooperation with the University of Sheffield has included medical and health education, curriculum development and knowledge exchange. Al-Ameed University's College of Medicine has also collaborated with the Royal College of Physicians of London – Iraq Network in activities supporting medical education and healthcare development.
In addition, the University expanded its international academic network during 2025 through cooperation with institutions including Tarbiat Modares University and maintained international partnerships such as that with West Virginia University. Given Al-Ameed University's predominantly health-focused academic profile, these partnerships provide further opportunities for research, training, knowledge exchange and development across medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nursing and other health disciplines.
These collaborations are complemented by joint health conferences, professional training activities, community health initiatives and scientific exchange. Together, they demonstrate Al-Ameed University's continuing commitment to working with local, national and global partners to improve health and wellbeing outcomes, strengthen health education and support the development of healthcare services.
