Our university participated in the proceedings of the training course for preparing and qualifying new National Assessors (NAT), organized by the National Council for Accreditation of Medical Colleges in Iraq and hosted by the College of Medicine at the University of Baghdad, with the participation of a select group of faculty members and representatives of medical colleges across Iraqi universities.
The university's participation was represented by the attendance of the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Lamia Abdul-Karim Issa, and the Head of the Medical Education Unit at the College of Medicine, Professor Dr. Hussam Al-Zuwaini. This engagement came within the framework of the university's commitment to reinforcing its presence in medical education development programs and advancing the requirements of quality assurance and academic accreditation.
The course featured a theoretical and practical training program covering mechanisms for conducting evaluative site visits, gathering evidence, conducting interviews, analyzing data, and preparing reports in accordance with national accreditation standards. It also addressed discussing accreditation domains and standardizing their evaluation mechanisms, thereby enhancing the competence of assessors and elevating the reliability of evaluation outcomes.
