The College of Pharmacy, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center and under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Uday Abdul-Ridha Hussein Al-Rikabi, organized a workshop titled "Treatment of Chemical Waste in Scientific Laboratories."
The workshop, presented by the faculty member at the college, Asst. Lect. Ali Mohammed Saeed, included shedding light on the approved scientific mechanisms for dealing with chemical waste generated by laboratories, and methods for treating and disposing of it in accordance with approved environmental and health standards, which contributes to maintaining the safety of laboratory workers and the surrounding environment.
The workshop also addressed the importance of spreading awareness among students and researchers regarding safe methods for managing laboratory waste, emphasizing adherence to preventive measures that ensure a safe and sustainable laboratory work environment.
The workshop witnessed the attendance of a number of teaching staff and students, as well as active participation from the attendees, who raised a series of questions and made interventions that contributed to enriching the workshop's themes.
