Our university participated in the Iraqi Universities Handball Championship for Students, organized by the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Device / Student Activities Department at the Ministry of Higher Education. It was hosted by the University of Baghdad, Al-Mustansiriyah University, Dijlah University, and Gilgamesh University in Baghdad, in cooperation with several Iraqi universities, from February 8th to 15th.
The university delegation in this championship was represented by a team of students from the College of Medicine. This participation falls within the framework of continuous efforts to support sports activities and enhance student talents, contributing to developing students' capabilities and building their integrated personalities alongside their academic excellence.
The Director of the Student Activities Department, Dr. Hussein Hakim, stated to University Media that this participation aligns with the university's directives aimed at enhancing positive interaction and constructive cooperation among Iraqi university students, and opening broader horizons for communication and exchanging experiences. He noted that the championship represents an important opportunity to develop sports skills and hone youth energies, as well as consolidating the spirit of teamwork and institutional belonging. He indicated that the university attaches great importance to student activities as an integral part of the educational process.
