The University President, Prof. Dr. Jawdat Nouri Al-Jashamy, chaired a meeting of the Educational and Academic Guidance Council for Female Students. This significant step marks a unique initiative—the first of its kind across public and private universities and colleges in Iraq. The meeting was attended by the Council President, the Acting Scientific Assistant to the University President, Asst. Prof. Dr. Lamia Abdul Kareem, along with the participation of all council members.
The meeting addressed mechanisms to develop the educational and academic guidance system and enhance its role in supporting the educational journey of female students. The discussion focused on contributing to the elevation of scientific and psychological standards and providing a university environment that stimulates creativity and excellence, aligning with the nature of this pioneering initiative adopted by the university.
The University President emphasized the importance of activating the role of the Educational and Academic Guidance Council as a fundamental pillar in addressing challenges facing female students and providing them with the necessary academic and educational support. He noted that the formation of this council represents a paradigm shift in university counseling work and reflects the university's vision for developing the student system and achieving sustainable academic excellence.
For her part, the Council President outlined the council's key focus areas and future plans. She affirmed the council's commitment to providing qualitative guidance services in accordance with the academic quality standards adopted by the university. She highlighted that these efforts aim to enhance the psychological stability and academic achievement of female students, establishing this pioneering initiative as a model to be emulated within Iraqi higher education.
