Within the framework of its active academic presence and contribution to supporting scientific research, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy at our university, Prof. Dr. Uday Abdul-Redha Hussein Al-Rikabi, participated as a member of a PhD dissertation defense committee at the College of Pharmacy, Mustansiriyah University. The dissertation evaluated the cytotoxic effects of Resveratrol on human lung adenocarcinoma cells (A549).
The dissertation, presented by PhD student Muneer Mohammed Hanoun, addressed the potential of utilizing Resveratrol to enhance the therapeutic efficacy of Gemcitabine in the treatment of lung cancer. The results demonstrated its promising potential in improving treatment response, while emphasizing the importance of completing future studies prior to clinical application.
This participation embodies the academic standing enjoyed by the university and the role of its faculty members in contributing to scientific committees and research defenses across Iraqi universities, thereby enhancing scientific cooperation and consolidating the university's presence in academic forums.
