Al Ameed Universitys College of Medicine Holds a Workshop Titled The Generosity of Al Sayyida Al Zahra (peace be upon her) for Cardiac Care in Collaboration with the Mercy Foundation for Child Health
Under the auspices of the President of Al-Ameed University, Professor Dr. Jawdat Nouri Al-Jashaami, the College of Medicine organized a training workshop titled “The Generosity of Al-Sayyida Al-Zahra (peace be upon her) for Cardiac Care” in collaboration with the Mercy Foundation for Child Health. The workshop began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by an opening speech by the University President, welcoming attendees and commending the College of Medicine for its community contributions. He emphasized the importance of caring for children, viewing them as the foundation of future projects, and praised the efforts of participants and attendees in this significant scientific and humanitarian event.
Acting Dean of the College of Medicine, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Thulfiqar Al-Bassam, also delivered a speech, welcoming the participants. He highlighted that heart diseases represent a global health challenge, requiring the exchange of expertise among physicians and healthcare institutions. He affirmed that this workshop is part of the College’s ongoing efforts to serve the community, especially children.

Assistant Professor Dr. Lamyaa Abdul Karim, a faculty member at Al-Ameed University's College of Medicine, gave a lecture on “Congenital Heart Diseases and Their Impact on Adult Patients.”
Dr. Iqbal Ghanem Al-Mulla presented on “Signs, Symptoms, and Precautions of Congenital Heart Diseases.”
Dr. Nadia Riyadh delivered a lecture titled “A Simplified Classification of Congenital Heart Diseases.”
Dr. Haider Sahab discussed “The Importance of Cardiac Imaging with X-rays.”
Dr. Iman Al-Obaidi, President of the Mercy Foundation for Child Health, gave a scientific lecture titled “The Indications for Performing Echocardiography.”
Professor Dr. Wadhaah Mahboubah presented on “Optimal Timing for Surgery in Congenital Heart Diseases.”
The workshop concluded with practical sessions, including clinical examinations for children, echocardiography assessments, and nutritional screenings. Attendees and families of children with heart diseases were also provided with free educational booklets to raise awareness.
