Under the gracious patronage of the President of the Education and Higher Education Authority at the Holy Al-Abbas Shrine, Prof. Dr. Abbas Rashid Al-Dadah Al-Moussawi, and under the supervision of the President of Al-Ameed University, Prof. Dr. Joudat Nouri Al-Jashmi, Al-Ameed University organized today, Sunday, 21/9/2025, the activities of the First University Day Forum on the occasion of the commencement of the new academic year.
The activities began with a warm reception of the students with Iraqi flags and flowers, followed by a procession to the Imam Al-Mujtaba Hall (peace be upon him), where the forum was inaugurated with a blessed recitation from the Holy Qur’an. This was followed by a guidance and awareness lecture delivered by His Eminence Sheikh Zaman Al-Hasnawi, in which he emphasized the importance of combining academic achievement with adherence to religious and ethical values, and highlighted the role of university students in serving their community and contributing to its development.
The forum witnessed wide attendance, including the President of the Education and Higher Education Authority at the Holy Al-Abbas Shrine and member of its Board of Directors, the President of the University and his assistants, deans of colleges, directors of academic and administrative departments, faculty members, university staff, as well as a large number of students.
The University President delivered a welcoming speech on the occasion, congratulating the students on the start of the new academic year and affirming the University’s commitment to providing a sound academic environment that supports their scientific and personal aspirations.
Following this, an open dialogue session was held between the University Council and the students, during which their opinions and suggestions were listened to in an interactive atmosphere that reflected the spirit of communication between the students and the University administration.
The forum concluded with a general competition among the students of the colleges, which included a variety of knowledge and cultural questions, followed by the distribution of awards to the winners amid an atmosphere full of engagement and joy.
