The Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan held a remote workshop for faculty members, administrative staff, and students of the College of Dentistry at our university. This was part of the college's preparations to apply for Jordanian accreditation for the dentistry program. The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Prof. Dr. Samer Majeed Al-Nasrawi, alongside teaching and administrative staff, and a number of students.
The workshop addressed the concept of programmatic accreditation and its importance in enhancing academic recognition, the program's reputation, and increasing employment and postgraduate study opportunities for graduates. It also emphasized the role of students as partners in the processes of evaluation and continuous improvement.
The commission also reviewed the Jordanian standards for programmatic accreditation, the requirements for preparing the self-evaluation report, and the mechanisms for application and final evaluation of the program. The workshop was opened by the Vice President of the Commission, Dr. Saad Bani Mohammed, while Dr. Omar Saafneh and Jihan Jabr presented an overview of the accreditation standards and procedures, affirming the commission's continuation in expanding its services and enhancing its partnerships with higher education institutions in the region.
