On Monday, September 7, 2026, the University Council held its first regular session for the new academic year, chaired by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Jawdat Nouri Al-Jash'ami, and attended by all council members. The session involved discussing several key agenda items, led by the preparations necessary for welcoming students with the launch of the new 2026–2027 academic year and creating an appropriate campus environment that aligns with the requirements of the educational and academic process.
The council also reviewed college plans and programs for the new academic year, alongside mechanisms for improving academic and administrative performance. Additionally, members followed up on organizational and service aspects while ensuring the provision of necessary requirements to guarantee the smooth flow of the educational process from its first days.
The meeting addressed several files related to scientific affairs, student affairs, enhancing educational quality, developing academic programs, and supporting scientific and cultural activities to contribute toward achieving the university's goals and future strategies.
At the conclusion of the session, emphasis was placed on following up on the implementation of the proposed recommendations and decisions to ensure optimal readiness for launching the new academic year and attaining its objectives in accordance with approved plans.
