The College of Basic Education for Girls held a mourning gathering to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), in the presence of the Dean of the College and a number of female teaching staff, students, and college personnel, in an atmosphere pervaded by sorrow and contemplation on the biography of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
The gathering commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech that addressed illuminating milestones from the life of Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), his prominent role in disseminating the sciences of Ahl al-Bayt, and consolidating the principles of authentic Islamic thought, in addition to his scientific contributions that enriched various fields of knowledge.
The gathering also included an awareness lecture that shed light on the human and ethical values embodied by the Imam (peace be upon him) and the lessons drawn from his fragrant biography, especially in the fields of knowledge, patience, and steadfastness in principles. The gathering concluded with the recitation of Surat Al-Fatiha, praying for mercy upon the souls of the martyrs, and praying to God to protect Iraq and its people and to perpetuate security and stability throughout its lands.
