Under the gracious patronage of the Chairman of the Education and Higher Education Authority at the Holy Al-Abbas Shrine, Prof. Dr. Abbas Rashid Al-Dadda Al-Moussawi, and under the supervision of the President of Al-Ameed University, Prof. Dr. Joudat Nouri Al-Jashaami, the proceedings of the Second Annual General Conference of Al-Ameed University were inaugurated on the morning of Tuesday, September 16, 2025, with the presence of the University’s Vice Presidents, College Deans, faculty members, and administrative staff.
The opening session commenced with a blessed recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah in tribute to the souls of Iraq’s martyrs. This was followed by the ceremonial playing of the Iraqi National Anthem and the Anthem of the Holy Al-Abbas Shrine, titled “Lahn Al-Ibaa” (The Melody of Pride).
Subsequently, the Chairman of the Education and Higher Education Authority delivered a keynote address, in which he commended the efforts of those who organized the conference, emphasizing that objective performance assessment and a meticulous review of past experiences contribute to strengthening capacities, identifying strengths and weaknesses, and deriving lessons that enhance institutional performance and lead to sustainable development.
The President of Al-Ameed University then delivered a welcoming speech, underscoring the significance of this conference in supporting the academic and administrative progress of the University, and in advancing its future plans in harmony with its vision and mission.
The activities of the first day included a brief presentation of a series of lectures by the Custodian of the Holy Al-Abbas Shrine, Sayyid Ahmed Al-Safi (may his honor endure), entitled “A Brief Glimpse into Management.” In addition, several visual presentations addressed themes related to academic and administrative development and infrastructure enhancement, along with open discussion sessions designed to engage faculty and administrative staff in shaping future visions and development proposals.
