The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Department at Al-Ameed University organized an awareness lecture for students titled "The Phenomenon of Cyber Extortion" on Sunday, November 24, 2024, for the second consecutive day. The lecture, held in the Jabir Ibn Hayyan Hall on campus, was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Hassanein Adnan Mortada, Director of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Department at the university. The event was attended by students from the College of Nursing and staff from the department.
This lecture is part of the activities of the “Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Week,” which commenced at the university and will continue in the coming days. The event involves the participation of college deans, faculty and administrative members, as well as university students. The activities aim to raise awareness of the role of psychological counseling in addressing societal challenges such as cyber extortion and to promote educational guidance among students and the university community.
