Under the patronage of Al-Ameed University and the University of Karbala, the proceedings of the Second Annual Conference for Sustainable Development were launched. The event was attended by the University Assistant President for Administrative and Legal Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Kareem Abdul Rahim, along with a number of department directors, faculty members, and staff from our university. The conference was held at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Karbala, with the participation of researchers from various Iraqi universities.
The conference included discussions on a range of important scientific themes focused on natural resource management, enhancing energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, and green transport, as well as waste management and recycling. These topics align with the requirements of sustainable development and current environmental challenges.
In a statement to University Media, Dr. Abdul Rahim affirmed that our university's participation in this scientific forum is part of its institutional commitment to supporting sustainable development trends. He noted that convening the second edition of the conference reflects the consolidation of sustainability as an adopted scientific path in universities, marking a transition from theoretical concepts to practical, applied solutions.
The conference was attended by representatives from several public and private universities, alongside a select group of academics and researchers. Participants presented scientific papers aimed at proposing realistic solutions to address contemporary environmental and economic challenges and contribute to serving society.
