The University Psychological Counseling Division at Al-Ameed University held a meeting with the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Adiy Abdul Redha Al-Rikabi. During the meeting, the details of the mental health support project in the college were discussed, along with mechanisms for its implementation, to contribute to enhancing students' mental health and preparing a supportive and stimulating university environment.
The meeting included a review of the project's themes, which comprised three main aspects. The discussion on the first aspect covered holding psychological lectures, workshops, and seminars aimed at bringing about a positive change in students' personalities. Emphasis was placed on preparing an appropriate timetable for these activities that does not conflict with the academic schedule, in coordination with the Scientific Assistant to the Dean.
The meeting also discussed the second aspect of the project, which focuses on supporting mental health through organizing intellectual activities and programs within the college. These aim to discover student talents and identify their thinking levels and patterns, in addition to tasking the Psychological Counseling Unit with providing the necessary requirements to implement these activities at appropriate times.
The meeting touched upon the third aspect of the project, which involves supporting mental health by commemorating religious occasions during the semester and holding dialogue seminars in the fields of Principles of Jurisprudence, beliefs, biography, and ethics. This is due to their role in consolidating positive values and enhancing psychological balance among students.
