At the heart of Al-Ameed University lies one of the most important academic libraries in Iraq: the Central Library. The university established it in accordance with its vision to be a model of leadership and excellence in higher education at the Iraqi national level by 2030.

The library provides daily services, including: providing e-books, a plagiarism check service, and a selective dissemination of information (SDI) service. Its digital repository includes research papers, theses, dissertations, and e-books.

It provides an advanced digital library: Offering hundreds of thousands of electronic information resources (books, journals, research papers) and digital educational platforms, free and virtually accessible to all beneficiaries.

It includes a distinguished print collection: featuring the latest refereed editions updated annually, in accordance with the latest protocols with international and local publishing houses. It offers free and accessible services to undergraduate and postgraduate students, faculty, staff, and researchers from both inside and outside the university.

It seeks to be the ideal model for leading academic libraries in Iraq and the primary supporter for the development of university and school libraries. It operates according to documented policies and procedures to ensure service quality and to support the university's institutional and programmatic accreditations.

It is operated by a professional team through four main divisions: (User Services, Technical Processing, Information Systems, and Continuing Education). It is managed by qualified specialists in library and information science, general sciences, and information technology.

Strategic Partnerships

Internationally:- Partnerships with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Research4Life program, including the Hinari program, and an exclusive agreement with the prestigious British University of Sheffield.

Regionally:- Joining the Arab Unified Catalog (AUC), the largest Arabic bibliographic database.

Nationally:- Close cooperation with Iraqi university libraries and a strategic link with the Library and Manuscript House of the Al-Abbas (p) Holy Shrine.
