Under the patronage of the Head of the Education and Higher Education Authority at the Holy Al-Abbas Shrine, Prof. Dr. Abbas Rasheed Al-Dada Al-Musaawi, and under the supervision of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Jawdat Nouri Al-Jash'ami, University of Al-Ameed organized the activities of the First University Day Forum for the 2026–2027 academic year. The event took place on Monday morning, September 21, 2026, in Imam Al-Mujtaba Hall, in the presence of member of the Board of Directors of the Holy Al-Abbas Shrine, Dr. Afdal Al-Shami, along with numerous official, religious, and academic personalities, as well as university students.
The forum's activities featured a warm reception for students at the university entrance, where they were greeted with flowers by the university presidency, college deans, and teaching faculty before being guided to Imam Al-Mujtaba Hall. The opening ceremony commenced with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur'an, the recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in honor of the martyrs, and the playing of the national anthem alongside the "Lahn Al-Ibaa" anthem.
The forum program included a visual presentation on University Day showcasing archival footage from previous forums, an awareness and guidance lecture delivered by His Eminence Sayyid Mohammed Hussein Al-Ameedi (May His Support Endure), and a welcoming address by University President Prof. Dr. Jawdat Al-Jash'ami. In his speech, the President welcomed students at the launch of their new academic year, emphasizing the significance of the university stage in building the student's character academically, culturally, and socially.
Additionally, the forum featured an open panel discussion between the University Council and students to listen to their opinions and suggestions and address their needs. The event concluded with competitive activities organized among students of various colleges, followed by the distribution of awards to the winners.
The organization of this forum reflects the university's commitment to starting the new academic year with an integrated program combining scientific, guidance, cultural, and interactive dimensions, thereby enhancing communication between students and university leadership and setting the stage for a successful academic year filled with achievement.
