The College of Medicine at Al-Ameed University organized a training workshop entitled: “Principles of OSCE Design – How to Set an OSCE Exam”, delivered by the Director of the Medical Education Unit at the College, as part of the University’s and College’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of medical education and develop clinical assessment methodologies.
The workshop was attended by Prof. Dr. Maytham Hameed Al-Qanbar, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hassan Nasrallah, Acting Dean of the College of Medicine, along with the Scientific and Administrative Assistants, Heads of Clinical Departments, and several members of the Curriculum Committee, reflecting the University’s commitment to elevating the competencies of its academic and medical staff in designing and evaluating clinical examinations in accordance with international standards.
Additionally, the workshop saw the participation of faculty members, clinical tutors, as well as physicians from Karbala Health Directorate and affiliated teaching hospitals, within the framework of a scientific collaboration aimed at developing skills in preparing Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), thereby contributing to enhancing educational outcomes and ensuring advanced levels of practical assessment for students.
The workshop covered several key topics, focusing on the fundamental principles of OSCE exam design, methods for developing assessment stations aligned with global advancements in medical education, along with practical and interactive discussions among the participants.
