The College of Medicine at Al-Ameed University organized a scientific awareness workshop on modern medical education trends, presented by Prof. Dr. Ali Tariq. The workshop addressed the latest contemporary concepts in medical education and opened new horizons for participants in developing their academic and humanitarian skills.
Dr. Ali Tariq stated in an exclusive declaration to the university media that developing the skills of the teaching staff represents the cornerstone of any real change process. He emphasized that contemporary medical education is no longer based on the centrality of teaching as much as it relies on learning. He explained that education is a limited, formal, and temporary process, whereas learning is a continuous human phenomenon that accompanies the individual throughout their life.
Tariq added that the humanitarian aspects of the patient represent an essential element in medical practice; science alone is not sufficient if mercy, empathy, and the ability to understand the human being before their illness are absent. He noted that a successful physician is one who combines scientific knowledge with human awareness simultaneously.
Tariq also pointed to the entry of artificial intelligence into the field of learning and its role in making the educational process more interactive and rich, bringing it closer to the concept of gamification, where learning transforms into a stimulating experience based on interaction rather than rote instruction.
It is noteworthy that this workshop comes as part of a series of training programs organized by the College of Medicine at Al-Ameed University, aimed at developing the skills of its professors and students, and promoting the adoption of the latest global trends in medical education in line with standards of quality and academic excellence.
