As part of its ongoing efforts to promote environmental awareness and expand green spaces, the Department of Student Activities at Al-Ameed University, in cooperation with the Agricultural Division, organized a comprehensive tree-planting campaign on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. The event witnessed the active participation of administrative department heads, faculty members, students, and a number of university staff members.
This initiative comes in response to the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, emphasizing the importance of increasing green areas within educational institutions, and coincided with National Tree-Planting Day. The campaign involved planting numerous trees across the university’s corridors and included the distribution of educational brochures highlighting the importance of afforestation and its role in improving environmental quality.
The Presidency of Al-Ameed University affirmed that the campaign is not merely aimed at enhancing the environmental landscape of the university campus, but also seeks to instill a culture of environmental consciousness among students and academic staff, while fostering a spirit of collaborative engagement across various university sectors to ensure the success and sustainability of the initiative.
This effort contributes to cultivating a sense of environmental responsibility among students and improving the overall ecological quality of the university environment. It aligns closely with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that the university endeavors to achieve, positioning Al-Ameed University as a model institution in environmental commitment and social responsibility.
