Overview

The Department of Construction and Projects is one of the University's principal administrative and technical departments. It is responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring construction and infrastructure projects in alignment with the University's vision, strategic objectives, and development plans. The Department also plays a pivotal role in supporting the University's colleges, departments, and centers by facilitating administrative and technical procedures related to projects, maintaining continuous coordination with relevant stakeholders, and addressing challenges to ensure the timely completion of projects in accordance with the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and optimal resource utilization.

The Department consists of three main divisions, each with specific responsibilities:

1. Projects Planning Division: This division is responsible for preparing the University's strategic and five-year development plans for projects, assessing the needs of colleges and academic departments, and developing programs and proposals that contribute to the enhancement of infrastructure and support the University's future expansion and growth.
2. Projects Implementation Division: This division is responsible for executing projects and supervising their implementation on-site. It ensures that all work is carried out in accordance with approved engineering and technical specifications while coordinating with the relevant parties to complete projects within the established timelines and according to the highest quality standards.
3. Projects Follow-up Division: This division is responsible for monitoring all University projects throughout their various stages, tracking progress rates, preparing periodic reports, and following up on the resolution of implementation challenges in coordination with the executing parties to ensure the continuity of work and the achievement of each project's objectives.

2. Supervise the preparation of engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications in accordance with approved standards and regulations.
3. Manage and implement construction and service projects within approved budgets and established project schedules.
4. Ensure the quality of project execution through continuous site supervision, technical inspections, and compliance with approved specifications.
5. Apply occupational health and safety standards and environmental sustainability requirements across all engineering projects.
6. Develop and enhance the University's infrastructure to support teaching, learning, research, and innovation.
7. Promote transparency and good governance in procurement, contract award, and project implementation processes.
8. Strengthen the capabilities of engineering and technical staff through continuous professional development and the adoption of emerging technologies.
