Overview

An academic, psycho-educational counseling unit specialized in providing comprehensive guidance, counseling services, and programs. It aims to assist university students in achieving self-understanding, identifying and framing their problems, recognizing their capabilities, and developing their skills. This enables them to attain psychological, educational, social, vocational, and familial adjustment, and to realize their goals within the framework of the orthodox Islamic teachings.



Vision

To achieve leadership in providing integrated psychological, educational, vocational, and social guidance and counseling services and programs.


Mission

To facilitate psychological, educational, vocational, social, and academic adjustment for university students, while maintaining leadership through the quality of counseling services and programs provided, in accordance with Islamic principles and international ethical standards for the counseling and guidance profession.


Goals

  1. Assisting university students in adapting to the demands of university life through developmental, preventive, and training counseling programs.
  2. Providing appropriate counseling services and programs for all university students to support mental health and self-development.
  3. Developing diverse academic skills for students (critical and creative thinking skills, coping with various stressors, and personal development) in a manner that fosters academic and personal excellence.
  4. Investigating the causes of academic underachievement, guiding underachieving students toward ways to overcome academic difficulties, and protecting them from academic failure, thereby reducing university dropout rates.
  5. Supporting high-achieving and gifted students, and providing measures that enhance their capabilities and potential.
  6. Facilitating positive behavioral and attitudinal changes in counselees with maladaptive tendencies.
  7. Assisting in improving the interpersonal and social relationships of the counselee.
  8. Enhancing the counselee's capacity to influence and be influenced by others positively.
  9. Promoting the psychological growth of the counselee and reinforcing their latent potential.
  10. Providing a specialized, scientific, and professional reference for student counseling services and programs at the university.
  11. Equipping the counselee with a set of values and life skills that enable positive interaction with their social environment.
  12. Guiding the counselee regarding their actual needs and real problems, and assisting them in fulfilling those needs in a sound manner.
  13. Achieving mental health as well as psychological, educational, social, and vocational adjustment for university students.
