Overview

The Student Activities Department is one of the principal administrative departments at Al-Ameed University. It reports directly to the President of the University and is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing extracurricular programs and activities that contribute to students’ academic, cultural, artistic, athletic, and social development. The Department is committed to discovering and nurturing students’ talents, enhancing their skills, and promoting the values of citizenship, belonging, teamwork, and social responsibility, in alignment with the University’s vision and mission of preparing academically distinguished and socially responsible graduates.

The Department consists of five specialized divisions that work collaboratively to achieve its objectives:

1. Sports Activities Division.
2. Artistic Activities Division.
3. Cultural Activities Division.
4. Volunteer Work Division.
5. Scouting Activities Division.

The Department is dedicated to providing a dynamic and inspiring university environment that fosters creativity and excellence. Through organizing sports tournaments, seminars, lectures, art exhibitions, scouting programs, and volunteer initiatives, it offers students valuable opportunities to actively participate in university life. These activities contribute to developing well-rounded graduates with leadership qualities, creativity, and a strong commitment to community service, while representing Al-Ameed University with distinction at local and international events.

Mission

To provide a dynamic, inclusive, and supportive university environment that encourages students to actively participate in sports, cultural, artistic, scouting, and volunteer activities. The Department is committed to developing students’ leadership, creativity, and life skills while promoting the values of citizenship, belonging, social responsibility, and sustainable development through innovative programs and effective community partnerships.

Objectives

1. To develop students’ academic, cultural, athletic, artistic, and social competencies, ensuring their holistic personal development.
2. To encourage active student participation in extracurricular activities and foster creativity, innovation, and initiative.
3. To identify, support, and nurture students’ talents by providing opportunities for growth and excellence.
4. To promote volunteerism and social responsibility through humanitarian and community development initiatives.
5. To raise awareness of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and integrate them into student activities and programs.
6. To promote students’ physical and mental well-being through sports activities and health awareness programs.
7. To develop leadership, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills through scouting and volunteer activities.
8. To prepare university teams and student delegations to participate successfully in local, national, and international competitions and events.
9. To establish strategic partnerships with governmental institutions, civil society organizations, and community partners in support of student activities.
10. To utilize student activities as a platform for community engagement, environmental sustainability, and social development.
11. To foster an inclusive university environment that ensures equal opportunities and encourages active participation for all students.
