The Department of Maintenance and Engineering Construction at the Al-Abbas (p) Holy Shrine conducted maintenance work on the firefighting and early warning systems for the first dormitory building of Al-Ameed University. This work was carried out by the Early Warning Systems Unit, which is part of the department's Occupational Safety and Firefighting Division.
The unit head, Engineer Mustafa Abdul Razzaq Mahdi, stated, "The department's staff conducted maintenance on the early firefighting systems for the first dormitory building of Al-Ameed University in order to detect fires and provide early warning to those present in the building, preventing the occurrence of fires and ensuring their safety and protection from danger." He pointed out that "the system is of German origin and is considered one of the best firefighting systems globally."
He added, "The work included the installation of 300 smoke and heat sensors, 16 audible alarm devices, and break-glass units distributed throughout the university building. These were tested to ensure they work in full synchronization with the system's panel by sending a signal in the event of a fire."
The staff of the Department of Maintenance and Engineering Construction works to provide public health and safety measures and periodically maintain its security systems at the sites and institutions of the Al-Abbas (p) Holy Shrine.
