Research Sessions Convene for the Third International Conference for Medical Sciences at Al-Ameed University

Al-Ameed University witnessed today, Wednesday (November 26, 2025), the launch of the morning and evening research sessions as part of the activities of the Third International Conference for Medical Sciences. The conference is organized by the university under the patronage of the Al-Abbas (p) Holy Shrine and in cooperation with Al-Kafeel University and Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital, under the slogan "Integration of Medical Sciences to Serve Society," with the participation of researchers and academics from Arab and foreign countries.

The morning session opened with a scientific lecture titled "The Metabolic Clash: Why Glucose Intolerance Clusters with Hypertension," presented by Dr. Abdul-Majeed Salmasi, Professor at the National Heart and Lung Institute at the Royal School of Medicine, University of London, reviewing the latest medical research findings in this field.

In the evening sessions, the presentation of research submitted within the first day's five tracks continued, according to the scientific schedule prepared by the conference's scientific committee. This included participation from researchers from 12 countries alongside Iraq: Iran, Yemen, Sudan, Tunisia, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, India, Britain, the United States, and Poland.

During the first day's activities, the Head of the Scientific Committee for the Pharmaceutical Sciences and Medical Reality Development track, Prof. Dr. Adiy Abdul Redha Hussein Al-Rikabi, stated that supporting scientific research represents a foundation for developing the medical and health sectors in the country. Al-Rikabi added that the conference received a group of specialized research papers in pharmaceutical sciences, ten of which were discussed, addressing the latest developments in treating chronic and cancerous diseases.

For his part, the Head of the Scientific Committee for the Nursing track, Prof. Dr. Dhiyaa Kareem Al-Bayati, said that the conference included multiple tracks covering dentistry, medical sciences, nursing, pharmacy, and basic sciences. Al-Bayati added that the nursing track received 37 research papers from inside and outside Iraq, focusing on ways to develop nursing services and elevate the skills of workers in this sector according to the latest scientific methods.

It is noteworthy that the conference spans two days and aims to enhance scientific integration among medical specialties and support research that contributes to serving society.
