Al-Ameed University and the Al-Ameed International Center for Research and Studies at the Al-Abbas (p) Holy Shrine have announced a prominent academic achievement: the acceptance of the refereed "Tasleem" journal into the database of the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC).
This acceptance comes after a meticulous review process by the ISC's journal evaluation committee, which decided to provisionally include the journal in the Scopus's preliminary list, effective October 13, 2025, for a period of one year. This inclusion is considered a pivotal step toward international recognition of the rigorous scientific content published by the academic institutions of the Al-Abbas (p) Holy Shrine.
"Tasleem" is a quarterly, peer-reviewed journal specialized in the sciences and arts of the Arabic language, established in 2017. It obtained official accreditation from the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for publishing materials for scientific promotion, confirming its local quality. Within a few years, it succeeded in gaining widespread interest from Iraqi and Arab universities as a preparatory step toward global reach. It is noted that the journal's name (Tasleem) carries two connotations: one intellectual, related to achieving intellectual conviction in refereed research, and the other symbolic, reflecting its affiliation with the Al-Abbas (p) Holy Shrine, as it relates to the attribute of "submission" (Tasleem) to Mawla Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).
This acceptance places "Tasleem Journal" on the map of international and regional scientific publishing, which raises the classification of the publishing institution and increases the chances of international researchers citing the research published within it, especially as ISC represents one of the most important reference databases in the Islamic world.
Commenting on this achievement, Professor Dr. Abbas Rashid Al-Daddah Al-Mousawi, the journal's Editor-in-Chief, stated:
"This achievement is the fruit of the vision of the Al-Abbas (p) Holy Shrine, represented in supporting intellectual and academic fields, and the continuous work over years by the editorial board and researchers. Acceptance into ISC, the citation institution for the Islamic world, confirms that our journal is on the right path to becoming a beacon for the Arabic language and its arts at an international level. We will continue to work on meeting the requirements for full inclusion, especially regarding improving academic ranking and the geographical diversity of contributors, to enhance the global presence of rigorous research."
The journal is committed to a development program focused on meeting the ISC committee's recommendations, which include working to enhance the geographical diversity of editorial board members and authors, alongside improving the quality of XML files. This ensures the conversion of the provisional inclusion status to permanent, solidifying the journal's position as an international reference in its specialization.
