The Department of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance at Al-Ameed University, in cooperation with the Al-Qamar Cultural Forum Center, organized a cultural awareness exhibition as part of the activities of the Iraqi Anti-Narcotics Week. The exhibition aims to spread awareness and immunize youth against dangerous societal scourges.
The Director of the Al-Qamar Cultural Forum Center, His Eminence Sheikh Harith Al-Dahi, stated to the university media: "Our participation in the activities of the Iraqi Anti-Narcotics Week stems from our realization of the magnitude of the danger this scourge poses to society, especially to the youth. Therefore, the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine, through the Al-Qamar Cultural Forum Center, has been keen to support these events culturally and educationally by spreading knowledge, exchanging expertise, and encouraging students to read and develop their intellectual and cultural capabilities."
Al-Dahi added, "Universities represent the ideal environment for crafting youth awareness. Here, the true integration between education and cultural activities manifests in enhancing the student's culture and motivating them toward conscious and responsible thinking."
For his part, the Director of the Counseling Department at our university, Prof. Dr. Hassanain Adnan Al-Mousawi, explained that the exhibition included a display of a wide range of books, scientific and cultural publications, and awareness materials issued by the centers and institutions of the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine. Most notably, the products of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs were featured, focusing on enhancing cognitive and value-based awareness and mobilizing students' potential to face intellectual and behavioral challenges.
Al-Mousawi pointed out, "Holding this exhibition is in harmony with our mission aimed at building solid awareness among our dear students and promoting a culture of drug prevention by spreading knowledge and enabling students to possess the tools of true awareness. We believe that culture and books are the first line of defense against this scourge; hence, care was taken to provide these publications free of charge to all students."
