Al-Ameed University continues its active academic presence in the events of the Third International Imamate Week, organized by the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine under the theme “Prophethood and Imamate: Inseparable Twins” and titled “The Counsels of the Imams: Guidance and Piety,” in conjunction with the celebration of the blessed Eid al-Ghadir. The event has witnessed wide participation from religious and academic figures from across the globe.
On Monday, June 16, 2025, the third academic session was launched in the Imam Al-Hasan Hall in the presence of the Legal Custodian of the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine, Sayyid Ahmad Al-Safi, Secretary-General Sayyid Mustafa Murtadha Al-Dhiaa Al-Deen, along with several members of the Board of Directors and heads of departments. Representing Al-Ameed University were a number of academic and administrative department directors, in addition to several academic figures from within Iraq and abroad.
The session was chaired by Dr. Sheikh Hossam Al-Obaidi, with Sheikh Jasim Al-Karkoushi serving as the session’s rapporteur. It featured a series of scholarly presentations, including a notable paper by Sayyid Ali Muhammad Hussein Al-Hakeem, which explored the ethical dimensions in the counsels of Imam Al-Jawad. Another key presentation was by Sheikh Muhannad Al-Uqabi, who discussed the qualities of leadership in light of Imam Hussain’s counsel to his brother Muhammad ibn Al-Hanafiyya.
The session also included a research paper by Sheikh Ammar Al-Baghdadi on the Mahdist promise between divine intervention and natural laws, and a study by Sheikh Mohsen Mazahir Shaaban from Iran, which analyzed the chain of narration and textual structure of Imam Al-Jawad’s letter to the governor of Sijistan. Additionally, Sayyid Riyadh Abdul Ameer Muhsin Al-Fadhli, from the Islamic Seminary in Najaf Al-Ashraf, presented a paper on love, sincere advice, their roots and applications as reflected in the sayings of Imam Al-Hadi.
