Al-Ameed University secured third place among Iraqi universities in the Al-Noor International University Quranic Competition, organized by the Department of Supervision and Scientific Evaluation at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research – Student Activities Division, and hosted by Al-Ameed University with the participation of 53 public and private universities from various governorates across Iraq.
Representing Al-Ameed University in the competition were two students from the College of Pharmacy — Hameed Farhan Abees as the Qari (reciter) and Ali Qasim Muhammad as the Hafiz (memorizer) — who delivered outstanding performances that impressed the Judging Committee and contributed to achieving this honorable accomplishment for the university.
Dr. Hussein Hakim Abdulwahid, Director of the Student Activities Department at the university, affirmed that the university’s participation in this competition comes as part of its ongoing efforts to promote religious and moral values among students, and its commitment to diverse student activities that develop their skills and enrich their cultural awareness. He added that the competition aims to develop students’ abilities in the memorization, recitation, and interpretation of the Holy Quran, while strengthening faith-based values and cultural exchange among Iraqi universities.
This participation represents a continuation of the series of events and competitions that Al-Ameed University is keen to organize and take part in, out of its firm belief in the vital role of student activities in shaping a generation that is aware, committed, and firmly grounded in religious and national values.
