Today, Thursday evening (12/15/2022), on the campus of Al-Ameed University, the first annual conference on sustainable development goals, organized by the Abbasid Shrine in partnership with the Ministry of Planning, was concluded in the presence of many official and academic figures, including a member of the Board of Directors of the Abbasid Shrine, Mr. The Commission of Education and Higher Education includes Prof. Dr. Abbas Rashid Al-Dadeh, President of Al-Kafeel University, Prof. Dr. Nawras Al-Dahan, Assistant to the President of Al-Ameed University for Administrative and Legal Affairs, Prof. Dr. Alaa Al-Mousawi, and a representative of the Ministry of Planning. The conference came out with a number of recommendations, including an emphasis on the seventeen sustainable development goals, which are Integrated goals that should be dealt with as one set, for the purposes of development in Iraq, taking into account the cultural nature of Iraqi society
According to the recommendations delivered by the Head of the Department of Development and Sustainable Development, Dr. Muhammad Hassan Jaber, "At the level of the governorates in Iraq, attention should be paid to the spatial and social feature of each governorate, and to focus on goals and objectives related to the nature of the place and the activity of each governorate
The recommendations included the need to adopt success stories related to sustainable development at the level of different sectors (private and public sectors) and civil society organizations, as well as an emphasis on increasing the contribution of various ministries in applied experiences, to achieve the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
The set of recommendations contained a paragraph dealing with supporting youth participation in the field of sustainable development, in addition to preparing the necessary arrangements to allocate a budget commensurate with the need for sustainable development projects by the concerned authorities
