Speech by the Legal Guardian of the Al-Abbas (p) Holy Shrine, His Eminence Sayyid Ahmed Al-Safi (May His Honor Last), at the Third Al-Ameed University International Conference for Medical Sciences. Delivered by the President of the Education and Higher Education Authority at the Holy Shrine and Member of its Board of Directors, Prof. Dr. Abbas Rashid Al-Daddah Al-Mousawi.
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Praise be to Allah as befits the majesty of His Countenance, the greatness of His Authority, and the loftiness of His Status; praise be to Him with all His praises for all His blessings. And the purest prayers and most complete peace be upon the Master of creation, the Chosen of the chosen, and upon his Household, the People of Remembrance (Ahl al-Dhikr) and the Custodians of Authority (Uli al-Amr), the loci of knowing Allah, the custodians of His message, and the site of His guidance.
Peace be upon the Ark of Salvation, the Remainder of Allah (Baqiyat Allah) on His earth. And peace be upon you, O noble attendees, with your praiseworthy stations, splendid names, and revered attributes, and the mercy and blessings of Allah.
To proceed:
Because we have complete confidence in the Iraqi intellect and its medical and other capabilities, we believe that through it, we will be at the forefront, and we will move in the field of private medical education to the ranks of universality. Therefore, our vision was derived from this confidence and this belief.
Our mission has been to supply the health landscape with staff who possess, first and foremost, professional and humanitarian ethics, and a spirit of belonging and institutional loyalty. They must possess the competence, knowledge, and basic medical skills necessary to meet human needs, contributing to providing quality care and developing the community health-wise, while being capable of competing in the labor market according to global quality and academic accreditation requirements.
Accordingly, we have targeted: Qualifying graduates educationally and ethically in a manner consistent with the values of our true religion and its humanitarian principles; adopting a distinct technical approach in education that cares for the learner, content, objectives, methods, and means, in line with the requirements of the age; and enhancing excellence in education by preparing an integrated, safe, and stable academic environment.
We also aim to provide distinguished scientific and training programs accredited locally and internationally, as well as adopting continuous medical education strategies capable of developing human resources by following up on specialized training for their skills and abilities. Furthermore, we encourage extracurricular and non-classroom activities in a way that integrates the student's personality, and we encourage applied scientific research, harnessing it to serve humanity and society, accomplishing research programs regarding health problems, forming strategic partnerships with reputable institutions locally and internationally, and opening and encouraging horizons of scientific and research cooperation with them.
Brothers, based on this vision, mission, and objectives, and as a translation thereof, we meet here at the Third Al-Ameed University International Conference for Medical Sciences, filled with a desire to extend to it, with you, determination and care so that it may take its path to the ascents of success. This success can only be achieved through scientific research and through scientific conferences and forums, realizing, as we all do, the extent of the importance of activating the mind and its role in charting a prosperous and safe medical future. Scientific research is the cornerstone of medical sciences; through it, knowledge is sustained, discoveries are made, perceptions are expanded, capabilities are developed, and new medical horizons are opened. Through it, the level of awareness is raised, contributing to the safety of the individual and the health of society.
Furthermore, scientific research, through these conferences, seeks to create human communities that support scientific relationships, strengthen research bonds, and solidify its quality through the probes of scientific arbitration (peer review) and through review, discussion, and evaluation.
Among its virtues is also the improvement of various aspects of life. There is no doubt that publishing scientific research is the pillar and key to that improvement. There is also no doubt that scientific conferences are the fastest and most effective means of scientific dissemination, due to the diversity and quality of attendance and the accompanying media coverage. They introduce the scientific and academic scene to researchers, their specializations, and what they have reached in the field of medical sciences and expertise, as well as documenting the intellectual property and scientific rights of the authors of research and studies.
Consequently, it allows for standing closely upon the difficulties and challenges in the various aspects of medical sciences. Finally, the role of discussion and interventions comes to open a new horizon, whether for the researcher regarding angles that were in the shadows, or for others, alerting them to areas that can be studied, and informing everyone of the latest developments, variables, and advancements in medical fields.
May Allah, Glorified is His Name, grant success to our university, Al-Ameed University. And perhaps, with a sincere supplication to Him, Glorified is His Power, He will care for this gathering, guide it, and breathe into it the breaths of success. We ask Him to bestow on our behalf abundant praise upon everyone who contributed to holding this conference, including scientific and preparatory committees, researchers, partners, participants, and attendees from inside and outside the homeland.
And Allah is the Guardian of success.
Our final prayer is that all praise is due to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, and prayers and peace be upon the one sent as a mercy to the worlds and upon his pure and righteous Household.
