The Department of Dormitory Affairs at Al-Ameed University, in collaboration with the Civil Defense Directorate of the Ministry of Interior, organized an awareness lecture on Sunday, May 4, 2025, which included both a theoretical aspect and a practical application for the dormitory supervisors team.
The lecture was delivered by Lieutenant Haider Khairallah Waheed, with the attendance of the Department Director, Assistant Lecturer Rami Mohammed Jawad Al-Asadi. The session addressed the types of fires, their causes, preventive measures, as well as proper procedures for handling emergency situations. Additionally, it provided a detailed explanation of firefighting equipment and the Early Warning System (Manzumat Al-Inthar Al-Mubakkir).
The activity also featured a practical exercise conducted in the dormitory field, utilizing the Hose Reel System (Manzumat Al-Itfa’ - Hose Reel), to demonstrate its correct operational procedures. This initiative comes as part of the department’s strategic plan to enhance the culture of occupational safety and elevate the competencies of supervisors in managing emergencies, ensuring the safety of residents and the protection of property.
