On Monday, July 21, 2025, Alameed University held a majlis of mourning to mark the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali ibn Al-Husayn Al-Sajjad, Zayn Al-‘Abideen (peace be upon them). The event was organized under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. Jawdat Nouri Al-Jashami, and supervised by the Department of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance.
The majlis was held in the Imam Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) Hall, attended by the University President, academic and administrative vice presidents, college deans, department heads, as well as academic and administrative staff.
The gathering began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a religious lecture delivered by Sheikh Dr. Faisal Al-Kadhimi, in which he discussed the life, virtues, and enduring legacy of Imam Al-Sajjad (peace be upon him) — emphasizing his profound role in preserving the path and knowledge of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) after the tragedy of Karbala, until his martyrdom on the 25th of Muharram al-Haram.
This majlis comes as part of the university’s ongoing spiritual and educational programs aimed at strengthening Islamic values and fostering a deeper understanding of the teachings of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) among its community.
