On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, the College of Nursing at Al-Ameed University, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit, concluded a two-day workshop titled “Occupational Health and Safety in the Workplace.” The workshop was conducted under the supervision of the College Dean, Professor Dr. Diaa Kareem Al-Bayati, and the Administrative Affairs Assistant Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Hussein Alawi Al-Ghanimi, and was presented by Assistant Lecturer Ihab Al-Din Haider.
The workshop covered general definitions of occupational health and safety, along with an overview of its historical roots. It also discussed the foundational principles that should be followed in the workplace to minimize risks and highlighted key factors that may lead to accidents. Additionally, the workshop emphasized the standards that employees should adhere to and methods for implementing these standards in line with the World Health Organization's specifications.
The event was attended by a number of the college’s academic, administrative, and technical staff, reflecting a significant interest in topics that enhance the work environment and improve occupational safety standards within the university.
