To develop scientific and practical skills, the College of Nursing at our university, under the supervision of the college deanship and the headship of the Basic Sciences Department, organized an applied educational activity for second-year students within the Microbiology course at the microbiology laboratory, centered on the Gram staining of bacteria experiment.
Under the guidance of the practical course instructor, two distinguished students undertook explaining the steps of the experiment and demonstrating them practically before their peers, while documenting the phases of laboratory work. This provided students with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the experimental procedure and deepened their understanding of the associated scientific concepts.
The activity aims to cultivate students' laboratory skills and consolidate foundational concepts in microbiology by employing the peer learning method, which fosters the exchange of knowledge and expertise while developing communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills within the educational environment.
