The College of Dentistry at our university held a scientific workshop titled "Drugs and Addiction: Health, Psychological, and Social Challenges – A Scientific and Legislative Vision." It was presented by Dr. Ayman Al-Khafaji, in the presence of a number of teaching staff and students.
The workshop included shedding light on the dangers of drugs and their negative impacts on health, psychological, and social aspects. It also discussed the legislative and legal dimensions related to combating the phenomenon of addiction and limiting its spread in society.
Dr. Al-Khafaji also reviewed the most prominent causes and factors contributing to the spread of substance abuse and addiction, alongside explaining the role of educational and health institutions in enhancing community awareness and adopting preventive and therapeutic programs to confront this phenomenon.
The workshop witnessed interaction from the attendees through asking questions and making interventions that contributed to enriching the discussion, emphasizing the importance of continuing such scientific and awareness activities that contribute to enhancing health culture among students and the community.
