Field Qualification to Serve Pilgrims The College of Nursing Concludes a Course on the Role of Medical Detachments During the Arbaeen Pilgrimage

The College of Nursing at our university, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, concluded the training course entitled "The Role of Medical Detachments in Providing Healthcare During the Arbaeen Pilgrimage." The course, which lasted for three days, targeted students from various colleges across the university, aiming to develop their knowledge and skills in delivering health and first-aid services during the Arbaeen pilgrimage, and to enhance their readiness to handle emergency cases in accordance with scientific and professional foundations.

The course featured a variety of scientific and practical topics, addressing the organizational mechanisms of medical detachments, methods of providing primary healthcare, and handling emergency cases and injuries. This was in addition to the importance of teamwork and coordination among medical and health personnel, contributing to the delivery of the best health services to the visiting pilgrims throughout the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

The course lectures were presented by Prof. Dr. Ridha Mohammed Lefta Al-Taee, Asst. Lect. Ali Alaa Mahmoud, and Academic Nurses Ali Jaafar Ali, Yaseen Kifah Abdul-Razzaq, Abbas Mohammed Abdul-Ameer, Haider Abdul-Ilah Wannas, Zaid Ali Abid, and Zahra Najah Hassan. Together, they reviewed the key scientific and practical aspects related to the operations of medical detachments, emergency response mechanisms, and the provision of field healthcare to the pilgrims.

At the conclusion of the course, the organizers emphasized the importance of continuing to hold specialized training programs that contribute to preparing and qualifying students for active participation in community service, particularly during major religious occasions, thereby enhancing their professional competence and humanitarian role in providing healthcare.
