Under the patronage and supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Uday Abdul-Ridha Hussein Al-Rikabi, and within the college's continuous efforts to develop its students' scientific and practical capabilities while enhancing the applied aspect of pharmaceutical education, the Department of Pharmaceutics, in cooperation with the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, inaugurated a training course entitled "Developing Pharmaceutical Skills for Students in Pharmacies." This initiative is part of the intensive summer training program held at the college's Educational Pharmacy.
The course lectures and practical training sessions were delivered by the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Uday Abdul-Ridha Hussein Al-Rikabi; the Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hayder Faleh Al-Shamekh; the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hassan Zulfiqar Al-Bassam; and faculty member Asst. Lect. Ali Mohammed Jaafar, in the presence of a number of the college's students.
The course aimed to develop the students' applied skills and enhance their ability to employ theoretical knowledge in professional practice. This is achieved through training in reading and analyzing medical prescriptions, discussing pathological cases and approved therapeutic protocols, and handling medications and pharmaceutical supplies within an educational environment that simulates the actual work environment in pharmacies.
This course falls within the framework of the college's keenness to prepare qualified pharmaceutical cadres who possess the scientific competence and practical skills necessary to keep pace with labor market requirements, contributing effectively to providing distinguished healthcare and pharmaceutical services.
The first day of the course witnessed remarkable engagement from the participating students, who commenced their practical training under the direct supervision of specialized professors, thereby enhancing their professional expertise and developing their applied skills.
