As part of its continuous efforts to develop library services and enhance digital transformation paths, the Central Library at our university announced the issuance of a comprehensive and simplified guide explaining the mechanism of using the Koha library management system, which contributes to facilitating the use of the system and raising the efficiency of library work.
The issuance of this guide comes within the framework of the library's plan aimed at fully automating library operations, which positively reflects on the quality of services provided to users and enhances the efficiency of managing and organizing information resources according to the latest approved standards in the field of libraries.
The guide included a detailed explanation of the system's most prominent functions, including cataloging and classification mechanisms, managing the circulation system and tracking the movement of resources, and organizing and managing user data, as well as preparing statistical reports with high accuracy to support evaluation and decision-making processes.
The General Secretariat of the Central Library emphasized that this guide represents an important step towards enabling users and staff to make optimal use of the capabilities of the Koha system, keeping pace with modern technological developments and contributing to enhancing the academic and research environment within the university.
