In a new global academic achievement added to the record of Iraqi successes, our university achieved a remarkable presence in the WURI 2026 ranking. It registered its name as the only Iraqi university among the list of the top (100) global universities in two international categories specialized in innovation and sustainability.
The university ranked (89th) globally within the WURI 2026: Financial Impact-Driven Technology Transfer (C8) Top 100. This category measures the ability of universities to transform knowledge and technology into projects with sustainable economic and developmental impact, focusing on innovation and societal influence.
Furthermore, the university achieved the (95th) rank globally within the WURI 2026: Funding for Sustainability (B5) Top 100, which evaluates the efficiency of educational institutions in managing and funding sustainability initiatives and supporting projects with long-term environmental and social impact.
This achievement serves as a confirmation of the rising status of our university in international ranking indicators, thanks to its modern academic vision and its adoption of innovation, scientific research, and sustainability standards, thereby enhancing the presence of Iraqi universities in global forums.
It is worth noting that the WURI ranking is one of the modern global rankings that focus on the real-world impact of universities on society, industry, and innovation, rather than relying solely on traditional academic indicators.
