The activities of the International University Al-Noor Qur’anic Competition concluded today, Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the campus of Al-Ameed University. The competition was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and hosted by the university, with the participation of 23 host universities and 53 Iraqi and international universities from various countries around the world.
The closing ceremony included the final assessment of international student participants, followed by the announcement of the results, which revealed the victory of eight Iraqi universities and three international universities across the different branches of the competition.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Scientific Complex for the Holy Qur’an at the al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine, the Presidency of Al-Ameed University, representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and delegations from the participating universities, as well as a group of professors and students.
During the event, plaques of excellence were awarded to the top eight Iraqi universities, in addition to honorary shields presented to the top three international universities, in recognition of their outstanding performance and active participation in this significant Qur’anic event.
The competition concluded with an exchange of words of gratitude and appreciation between the representatives of the participating universities and the organizing committees, who highly commended Al-Ameed University’s exceptional efforts in organization, supervision, and hospitality—reflecting its distinguished academic and scholarly standing among Iraqi and international universities.
