The university received the ministerial committee tasked with visiting private colleges of medicine, headed by the President of Jabir Ibn Hayyan University for Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof. Dr. Ali Ismail Abdullah, and comprising several professors, deans, and heads of scientific councils at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The visit aimed to conduct a field inspection of the educational and training process at the College of Medicine and assess its compliance with approved regulations and standards.
The committee was welcomed by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Jawdat Nouri Al-Jashamy; the Assistant to the University President for Administrative and Legal Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Karim Abdul-Rahim; the Assistant to the University President for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Lamia Abdul-Karim Issa; and the Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Riyadh Mustafa Murtadha, along with his assistants, alongside several professors and officials from both the college and the university.
The visit included a field tour throughout the College of Medicine, during which the committee members reviewed the classrooms, scientific laboratories, and administrative facilities, as well as the capabilities and equipment provided to establish an integrated educational and training environment for students. They also evaluated the college’s adherence to ministerial guidelines, regulations, and accredited international standards, thereby reinforcing the quality of medical education and its outcomes.
Furthermore, the visit included inspecting clinical training sites, foremost among them Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital, serving as a fundamental pillar for the clinical training of College of Medicine students. The committee members toured several hospital facilities and departments—including inpatient wards, operating theaters, the emergency department, and consultation clinics—to review the nature of medical services and resources available to students throughout their clinical training stages.
At the conclusion of the visit, the committee members expressed their satisfaction and appreciation for the efforts exerted in fulfilling educational and training requirements, particularly in the realm of clinical training. They reaffirmed the importance of continuing to advance infrastructure and academic programs in alignment with ministerial and international standards, contributing to enhancing the quality of medical education and preparing competent physicians capable of serving the community.
