The Scientific Committee of the Department of Internal Medicine at the College of Medicine of our university held a meeting in the presence of the Assistant to the University President for Scientific Affairs, Asst. Prof. Dr. Lamia Abdul-Karim, the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Riyadh Mustafa Murtadha, and the Director of the Medical Education Unit at the college, to discuss the preparations for the OSCE final clinical examinations for sixth-stage students for the current academic year.
The meeting featured a discussion on preparing the examination blueprint, determining the appropriate clinical stations, as well as formulating the questions and distributing them across the various stations to achieve a balance between the different assessment pillars.
Furthermore, emphasis was placed on reviewing the scientific level of the questions and clinical stations to ensure academic quality standards are met, and to evaluate the students in a fair and comprehensive manner in accordance with the approved educational objectives, reflecting the extent of their acquisition of the clinical skills and competencies required for graduation and practicing the profession efficiently.
