Under the patronage of the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine, the Al-Ameed Scientific and Intellectual Society, in collaboration with Al-Ameed University and Al-Kafeel University, organized the 7th edition of the Al-Ameed International Scientific Conference. Held under the theme “Meeting in the Realm of Al-Ameed to Ascend: Family and Societal Security – Identity and Technological Challenges,” the conference took place in the Imam Al-Hassan (peace be upon him) Hall at the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine. Representatives of Al-Ameed University attended the conference, which spanned two days (November 29–30) and featured notable participation from international, regional, Arab, and local universities, alongside numerous researchers and experts. The participants presented valuable research papers in Arabic and English, covering comprehensive topics such as social and psychological studies, family and societal security, religion and heritage, intellectual security, and more. The second and concluding day featured a distinguished session centered on a workshop titled “Educational Challenges Amidst Informational Openness.” The workshop was chaired by Dr. Mohammed Hassan Jaber and included two prominent research presentations: 1. “Hidden Values Acquired by Adolescents: TikTok as a Model” by Dr. Abdul Bari Al-Hamdani. 2. “Family Challenges in the Digital World” by Dr. Hatem Jassim Aziz. The session witnessed significant engagement from attendees, who thoroughly discussed the challenges faced by families and society amidst rapid digital transformations. The conference concluded with a set of recommendations delivered by Prof. Dr. Ali Kazem Al-Mislaoui, a member of the Al-Ameed Scientific and Intellectual Society and Head of Activities and Events. The recommendations emphasized enacting laws to curb harmful content, activating oversight without infringing on freedom of expression, organizing workshops and seminars in universities and religious and educational institutions to address societal issues, nurturing talented students to develop competencies, and proposing a university curriculum focused on family and societal security. They also highlighted engaging with influencers to promote positive values in society and publishing the presented research papers in a dedicated volume. The conference concluded with a ceremony honoring the participating researchers, recognizing their valuable contributions to the success of this global scientific event. This reflects the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine’s commitment and ongoing efforts to enhance intellectual and societal security and confront the technological challenges impacting families and communities.
