To meet the healthcare needs in Iraq and confront global health challenges, the College of Medicine at Al-Ameed University adopts high-quality medical education to prepare competent physicians who are committed to professional ethics, capable of continuous learning, contribute to medical research, and promote public health.
The College of Medicine includes the branch of Chemistry and Biochemistry, the branch of Physiology and Medical Physics, the branch of Pharmacology, the branch of Pathology and Forensic Medicine, the branch of Microbiology, the branch of Anatomy and Histology, the branch of Family and Community Medicine, the branch of Pediatrics, the branch of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the branch of Surgery, and the branch of Internal Medicine.
The College of Medicine provides a number of laboratories equipped with all necessary equipment according to quality classifications, including: the Anatomy Lab, the Clinical Skills Lab, the Computer Lab, the Physics Lab, the Pathology Lab, the Pharmacology Lab, and the Physiology Lab.
The college offers various activities to support students, including academic counseling, psychological guidance, mental health support, peer-assisted learning, and the encouragement of extracurricular initiatives, to ensure students have the necessary resources to excel academically, develop essential skills, and effectively handle challenges.
Simulation plays a vital role in its educational approach, utilizing interactive e-learning platforms such as the Learning Management System (Moodle), E-Portfolios to monitor student progress and develop their competencies, and skills laboratories equipped with advanced mannequins that simulate multiple clinical scenarios.
