Al-Ameed University took part in the activities of the 3rd International Week of Imamate, launched by the Holy Al-Abbas Shrine under the slogan: “Prophethood and Imamate: Two Inseparable Branches”, and titled: “The Imams’ Advices: Guidance and Piety”, in conjunction with the blessed occasion of Eid al-Ghadir. The event witnessed broad participation from Arab, Islamic, and international countries.
The opening ceremony, held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in the Imam Hassan (peace be upon him) Hall, was attended by the Custodian of the Holy Al-Abbas Shrine, His Eminence Al-Allama Sayyed Ahmad Al-Safi (may his honor endure), the Secretary-General Sayyed Mustafa Murtadha Al-Dhiaa Al-Deen, and members of the shrine’s Board of Directors. Al-Ameed University was represented in this significant scientific and religious event by the University President, Prof. Dr. Jawdat Noori Al-Jashami, along with several directors of academic and administrative departments. The event was also attended by a number of religious, official, and academic figures from Iraq and abroad.
The ceremony commenced with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, performed by the reciter Haidar Al-Bazooni, followed by a speech delivered by His Eminence Sayyed Ahmad Al-Safi. A documentary film was then presented, highlighting key moments from previous editions of the Week of Imamate.
The scientific program of the week includes extensive research sessions that explore intellectual and doctrinal topics presented by researchers from Iraq and various other countries, in both Arabic and English. These sessions focus on the thought of the Imams of Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them), their role in human and societal development, and addressing contemporary challenges.
