College of Nursing at Al-Ameed University Organizes Training Workshop on First Aid

The College of Nursing at Al-Ameed University organized a training workshop titled "First Aid and Its Basics," presented by Asst. Lect. Ali Alaa Mahmoud. The workshop was attended by the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Dhiyaa Kareem Al-Bayati, and a number of assistants, faculty members, and staff.

The workshop aimed to enhance participants' skills in dealing quickly and effectively with injuries and emergency incidents both inside and outside health institutions, through comprehensive theoretical and practical modules. The workshop covered the principles and objectives of first aid, mechanisms for dealing with cases of bleeding, wounds, and burns, as well as providing aid in cases of fainting and loss of consciousness, dealing with fractures and bruises, in addition to Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures, handling choking incidents, insect bites, and poisoning, and how to prepare a home or field first aid kit.

For his part, Asst. Lect. Ali Alaa Mahmoud affirmed that: "This workshop comes within the College of Nursing's commitment to spreading the culture of first aid among faculty and administrative staff, as it represents a fundamental life skill that contributes to saving lives and reducing the complications of accidents." He noted that the practical training gives participants greater confidence in handling emergency situations with professionalism and rapid response.
