The College of Nursing at our university organized a scientific visit to Al-Rashad Psychiatric Hospital, aiming to enhance the scientific and practical skills of its students and to bridge theoretical knowledge with hands-on clinical application.
The visit was supervised by the Administrative Assistant to the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Redha Mohammed Lafta Al-Ta’i, with the participation of a number of faculty members. The visit provided students with the opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the reality of healthcare services delivered in the field of mental health.
The visit also enabled students to observe a variety of psychiatric cases in real clinical settings, to understand the nature of mental disorders, and to learn about the nursing care approaches adopted in dealing with such conditions. This experience contributed to the development of students’ clinical observation skills, therapeutic communication abilities, and overall professional competence, thereby strengthening their academic preparation and qualifying them for effective nursing practice in the future.
