A number of branch library custodians at Al-Ameed University participated in a specialized training course on Modern Cataloging Standards, organized by the Cataloging and Information Systems Center of the Library and Manuscript House of the Holy Al-Abbas Shrine. The course was hosted by the Library Division at Al-Zahrawi University College.
This five-day course aimed to enhance the participants’ proficiency in cataloging practices and updating bibliographic information, thereby contributing to the development of services provided to students and researchers within academic libraries.
The training covered several core topics, including: Principles of Modern Cataloging, mechanisms of utilizing Library Information Systems (LIS), and Best Practices in Library Organization and Management. The course was delivered by a distinguished group of experts and specialists in the field, providing participants with hands-on exposure to the latest advancements in the world of Library and Information Science (LIS).
This participation comes as part of Al-Ameed University’s continuous efforts to develop its administrative and technical staff, and to enhance their professional competencies in a manner that positively impacts the quality of institutional performance.
